Magic Forest Walkthrough & All 4 Endings

Updated July 28, 2026 No spoilers until you want them

Magic Forest is an 8-area point-and-click puzzle game. Most "stuck" moments come from one misread clue. This guide gives you every solution — lantern orders, the hollow rune trial, the cave constellation and the canyon echo — and shows exactly how to reach each of the four endings, including the true Perfect Bloom ending.

Overview & what you need

The forest has 8 areas and a single "bark prophecy" that drives almost every puzzle. You'll collect four elemental treasures — a Windchime, Moonwater (vial), Seed of Earth, and an Ember Torch — and use them in the right order. Keep the prophecy open (the 📜 notes panel) whenever a lock asks for a sequence.

The bark prophecy: "First call the breeze (Wind), then gather the dew (Water), let earth be the base (Earth), and flame seal the crown (Fire)."

1 · Light the four elemental lanterns

This is the puzzle most players fail three times on. Light the lanterns in this exact order:

  1. Windchime (Wind)
  2. Moonwater (Water)
  3. Seed of Earth (Earth)
  4. Ember Torch (Fire)

Get the order wrong three times in a row and you trigger the Fail Ending (lost in perpetual mist). If you're unsure, re-read the bark prophecy in the hollow first — it spells out Wind→Water→Earth→Fire.

2 · The hollow rune trial (Wind→Water→Earth)

In the hollow, three rune stones want the powers embedded in order: Windchime → Moonwater → Seed of Earth. This trial is not consumed by the lanterns, so you can still do it afterward. Completing it is required for the true ending.

Hint: embed the hollow runes in Wind(chime) → Water(vial) → Earth(seed). The runes resonate but the treasures stay in your pack.

3 · Cave constellation (Blue→Gold→Violet)

On the cave ceiling, a star map is carved with the old order: "Blue begins, Gold follows, Violet ends." Light the constellation in that sequence. Wrong order just dims it — no penalty, just retry.

4 · Canyon echo (Heavy→Light→Heavy)

The canyon's deep echo reveals itself when you press the Axis Stone in the pattern Heavy → Light → Heavy. This is also the moment that decides your final destination later, so remember it.

5 · Craft the Harmony Gem on the bridge

The Watcher's Bridge is sealed by a rune lock; you need a Moss Key (use the Windchime Bell in the Misty Marsh to blow the mist away and grab it). On the bridge, combine:

…to craft the Harmony Gem. Setting this gem is what upgrades a standard clear into the true ending.

6 · The Axis Stone choice

At the end, the Axis Stone asks what you'll carry from the forest. To reach the true ending, set it to "Guard the Forest." Choosing the mortal light instead sends you to a different (still good) side ending.

All 4 endings explained

Ending 1 · Perfect Bloom (True Ending) 🌟

Complete the hollow rune trial, craft and set the Harmony Gem on the bridge, nurture the World Tree with the Heart of Spring, and set the Axis Stone to Guard the Forest. The World Tree bursts into full bloom under nature's blessing — the most complete ending.

Ending 2 · Starlit Homecoming (Standard) 🌳

Light all four elemental lanterns but skip the deeper trials. The World Tree wakes and lights a path home. A perfectly fine clear — and the obvious "first playthrough" result.

Ending 3 · Faint Light of the Mortal World (Side) 🌫️

Light all four lanterns and take the sapling the Axis Stone offers (following the mortal light). You carry hope back to the human world. Set the stone differently to unlock it.

Ending 4 · Fail Ending (Lost in the Mist)

Wrong elemental order three times in a row. The magic spirals out of control and Luna becomes a wood-spirit wandering forever. Just re-read the bark prophecy and try again.

Fastest route to the true ending

Hollow runes (Wind→Water→Earth) → all four lanterns (Wind→Water→Earth→Fire) → bridge Harmony Gem (Shard+Resonance+Dew) → Axis Stone "Guard the Forest". Miss any one and you'll land on a standard or side ending instead.
